Assistants Association

2009 Dues Notice

Gentlemen,

Thank you to everyone who has participated and supported the South Central Section Assistant’s Association in the past.  In review of 2009, the overall participation in the SCSAA has increased in no small part to the efforts of 2008-2009 President, Aaron Speaker.  Despite coming up short of victory, the 2009 South Central Section Jordan Cup Team was well represented at Hurricane Creek in Anna, TX.  Remember, to be eligible for competition in events at the Chapter of Section level, all Apprentices must obtain the required points set forth by the Section’s Education Committee.  For more information on these requirements, visit http://www.southcentral.pga.com/apprenticecorner/.

The South Central Section Assistant’s Association dues will remain $50.00.  The dues must be satisfied prior to entering any Assistant’s Association event.  The dues can be paid through the South Central Section’s website.

In the past, the Match Play was Section wide and held over a two day period.  In 2010, the Match Play will be structured within each Chapter and the winner of each Chapter will then play to determine the Section Match Play Champion and Consolation Champion.  The field will be limited to a maximum of sixteen participants in each Chapter’s Match Play.  Payout amounts within the Chapter will be allocated based on the participation within each Chapter.

For 2010, the Assistant’s Cup Matches will remain both a team and an individual event.  Each Chapter will be represented by five players from their Chapter.  The Chapter teams will be determined by each Chapter’s Assistant’s Association Chapter Director.  Any questions regarding Chapter qualifying should be directed to the respective Chapter Directors:

Arkansas – Charlie Jaynes Kansas – Kerry Petricek
Eastern Oklahoma – Kyley Tetley Western Oklahoma – Chris Weeks

The Association Championship will remain an 18 hole stroke play event.

The Callaway Section Assistant’s Championship will remain a 36 hole qualifier for the National Assistant’s Championship in Port St. Lucie, FL.  This event has an early registration deadline due to PGA National’s guidelines.  Please note the registration deadline and get your entry submitted on time for this event.

All of the above events will be point-earning events for the 2010 Jordan Cup.  Thank you in advance for your support of the Assistant’s Association.  We look forward to seeing all of you at the events in 2010.

Best wishes,

Mike Hansen, PGA

2010 Assistant’s Association President
