About the Section

The South Central Section PGA is one of 41 sections of the Professional Golfers' Association of America, and it is the ninth largest geographical section.   Its boundaries include the states of Arkansas, Oklahoma and Southern Kansas. Nationwide, there are more than 24,000 golf professionals, making the PGA the world's largest working sports organization. 

Membership in the South Central Section is approximately 480 members and apprentices involved in the operations of more than 175 golf facilities within its boundaries.The SCSPGA is the local delivery system for PGA of America programs and activities to promote golf in this region and to enhance the skills of its members.The SCSPGA Junior Tour  is a series of  66 one or two day tournaments held through June and July that includes our new, in 2010, Little Tyke division for 5-8 year olds. 

In each tournament there are eight divisions, four for boys and four for girls. The South Central Section works hand in hand with surrounding junior golf associations to promote junior golf in this area.The Section offers a full tournament schedule for its professionals. Each year professionals can tee it up in Pro-Pro's, The Match Play Championship, the Pro-Assistant Championship and the Section Championship.  Amateurs join in the Pro-Scratch and the Pro-President. 

Each Chapter has a full schedule of events for its area and the section also offers separate competitions for seniors and assistants.The Calendar of Events is just one of the publications produced by the SCSPGA in the promotion of its professionals and the game of golf.  A monthly newsletter is available with Section news.
